Call meeting to Order:  6:35 PM EST

 

Present:  Clementine Banks, Angela Anderson, Carl Anderson, Cinnamon Banks,

and visiting attendees:  Herbert Baker and Ann Baker (West Virginia).

 

Absent:  Gerald Vickers (working)

 

Approval of previous meeting minutes – Angela Anderson

  • Last meeting minutes held July 22, 2012.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  $433 from 2011 Reunion in Montgomery, AL.  As of to date, no monies received.

 

Individual Reports on Special Projects:

 

Clementine checked with Credit Union and Banks for best rates for keeping monies.  My Credit Union wanted at least two persons on account and maintains $250 balance.  Best Bank can open regular account with no charge if account is opened as a Business Account which allows 15 transactions per month.

 

Angela will open account at Comerica Bank, but she will have to use her SS number.  Relayed information regarding Tax ID in the future to John Darling.  Every state may have different laws and regulations.

 

Clementine contacted Hilton Garden Inn and Holiday Inn Express again to confirm agreements on blocked rooms.  OK.  The new sales manager for the Holiday Inn Express is Edward Anderson 313-887-7000.

 

Clementine and Angela visited several T-shirt companies and decided to go with LoveJoy Tee Shirts.  T-shirts will be the color orange with blue writing.

 

Clementine obtained the Metro Detroit Convention Bureau Product Request Form to order free items, including pin for the oldest relative.  I think that will be (George Walker)?  Correct me if I am wrong.  I will need to know total amount attending 4-5 weeks prior to July 19, 2013

 

Called and received email from the Detroit Princess Riverboat, $45 per person which includes dinner if anyone plans to stay over and decides to attend, $39 for lunch. 313-843-9376. We decided to go with the Diamond Jack River Tours (view your previous notes). We can board at 1:00 p.m.  Schedule of Saturday activities will be forthcoming.

 

September 7, 2012 information regarding hotels Activity Forms/Prices and description of tours has been mailed to all family members.  As of to date: received several emails from members interested in attending. 

 

Sent notification of address updates.  Good response.

 

Going Forward

 

  • Gerald Vickers wants to stipulate the urgency in choosing your hotel.  Please respond with your decision as to which hotel you will be choosing.

 

  • Urgency in sending in your monies.

 

  • Must have an approximate count of family members planning to attend (children and seniors) as soon as possible.

 

  • Special requirements (equipment), as well as (food) requirements are needed.

 

  • Continue to receive and update address, emails, etc.

 

  • Mail out example of Family Tree information for you to design.

 

  • Plan fundraiser activities for Detroit families (bowling and skating).

 

  • March 1, 2013, I will obtain the Belle Isle Park shelter, rent $250.00.

 

  • Discuss photos displays and request photos, cd’s, etc, to be sent to me or John Darling.  I received cd of photos from Irene’s husband, Mr. Streeter.  Thank you.

 

  • Sunday, after continental breakfast and before checkouts (10:00 a.m.), we will have a family business meeting to discuss the next reunion.

Holiday Inn Express Hotel
