1). Meeting called to order at 5:50pm at the home of Clementine Baker 15336 James Ave Oak Park, MI 48237.
2). Reunion members in attendance: Clementine Banks, Angela Anderson, Jerald Vickers Absent: Cinnamon Banks
3). Reading and approval of Feb 04, 2012 minutes – Angela Anderson
4). Treasurer’s Report – No money collected thus far. Balance remains $450.00 from the 2011 Montgomery, Al reunion.

6). Old Business:
Picnic Venue – Belle Isle, Downtown Detroit, cost $200.00, cash only, and can only be secured the year of event. March 1, 2013 is the registration date and Clementine Banks will secure this location.
Events – All agreed that the events for Saturday, July 20, 2013 will remain the same. Continental breakfast at the hotel, tour of Motown Museum and the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History, bus tour of Downtown Detroit, Greek Town, River Walk and waterfront areas, and picnic at Bell Isle. After the picnic, those interested may enjoy the Princess Party Boat which offers nightclub type partying with a midnight cruise along the waters between Detroit and Canada or any of the 3 casinos located Downtown (Greek Town, MGM, and Motor City). If families decide to stay longer on Sunday, July 21, 2013, we will plan a brunch aboard the Diamond Jack Tour Boats.
Hosting Hotels – As stated previously, Clementine Banks visited several hotels to host the Darling-Walker 2013 Family Reunion. To date, some families have decided to stay at a variety of hotels in and around the Detroit downtown area. The choice is yours. We will simply provide hotels that have been visited and can best accommodate our Reunion: Holiday Inn Express, Hilton Garden, and the Courtyard Marriot. Jerald stated that the Holiday Inn Express Downtown was conveniently located near many downtown attractions and requested that we revisit this location and make this our Host Hotel. Upon a second visit to the Holiday Inn Express by Angela Anderson and Clementine Banks, it was determined that the Holiday Inn Express will serve as a host hotel.
Financial Institutions – Angela Anderson verified that Comerica Bank charges a $10.00 monthly fee for accts with balances below $750.00. Metropolitan Church of God Credit Union has no monthly fee, only transacts business on Sundays or by appointment and has no ATM or Visa debit cards for external banking.
Family Reunion Seminar 2012 – Clementine Banks and Jerald Vickers will attend the Metropolitan Detroit Family Reunion 2012 Seminar at Cobo Hall scheduled for Saturday, March 24, 2012. This seminar will provide a wealth of valuable information, key contacts, booklets, freebies, and will allow for the Darling-Walker Family Reunion to register with the city of Detroit for 2013.
7). New Business:
Angela Anderson will check with Bank of America, University of Michigan Credit Union and Michigan First Credit Union for monthly fees. Clementine Banks will check with Public Service Credit Union.
Jerald Vickers and Angela Anderson will get prices for charter buses and contact local DJ’s for the picnic.
Angela Anderson will check with the T-shirt Company used by her church and compare her members discount prices with the prices of Love Joy T-shirts.
8). The meeting was adjourned by Jerald Vickers at 7:10pm.
