2013 Family Reunion Update – July 5

It’s getting close to that Reunion date weekend.

We have received Reunion Balance of $438.58 from John Darling.
Payments were also received from 6 family members. Thank you.

As of to-date, balance in account is $1,541.00.
Our bowling fundraiser:   we profit $80 for only 11 players (4 were children).  Great fun.

Our recent payments were $150 for hotel meet and greet room
Bus deposit $225, due $600
T-shirt deposit $126, due $100.
Hats $120 balance $100.

We are getting there.  Still have Caterer to pay.

City of Detroit packages for reunion families were picked up 6/24/2013.
Received Letter from City of Detroit/Mayor for Darling/Walker Committee.
Received pin for George Walker from City of Detroit.

Some are planning to arrive early and stay later.  Below is a list of some of the Hot Spots.  You will also receive the Visit Detroit Book  in your package.

If you are flying in by plane to Detroit Metropolitan Airport, let us know in advance so we can make arrangements to pick you up.  Speaking with the Detroit Taxi Cab company, they are not allowed to take you to your hotel from the airport because they are not license, but they will take you from Detroit to the Airport (confusing).  You would  have to get a limo or Metro Car from the airport  ($55 or more).  The cost for a tax is $45.00.  To ride a taxi around Downtown Detroit, the going rate when you get into the taxi is $2.50.  Bus rates are $1.25.  I’m learning this myself, since I drive my own car.
